Clarisa Di Salvo Workshops - 16 to 20 August
Casa Del Compas (Please note new address: Unit 2/15 Port Kembla Drive, Bibra Lake) will be hosting the stunning Clarisa Di Salvo for an exciting week of Flamenco workshops. See below for more details!
PALMAS, CANTE Y BAILE: DANCERS, MUSICIANS AND SINGERS OF ALL LEVELS WELCOME!
This invaluable series of classes will not only be lots of fun but will give you insight into and more importantly, the experience of structuring everything around the song. We will cover different types of Tangos over the five days and will combine all three elements in every class:
CANTE - While all students will have the option to actually sing, it won’t be compulsory. Regardless, everyone will be given the lyrics so that you can study the phrasing and melody, thus gain a clear picture of how everything fits together. Those who are keen to embrace the singing need to let Farida know, so that we she can send you the lyrics ahead of time.
PALMAS - A chance to brush up on your hand-clapping technique, and rhythms, as well as learn some fun combinations to accompany the singing and dancing. Good palmas is essential to good flamenco - through the process of embodying the rhythm, one gains more confidence in executing steps and supporting fellow musicians/singers/dancers.
BAILE - Clarisa will teach simple combinations that will enable you to listen to the cante and not be caught up with complicated steps. Later in the course, int/adv students may have the opportunity to try out their own remates marking and llamadas if they wish, but the emphasis will always be on how it relates to the singing.
There is also an advanced choreography course on offer, where Clarisa will focus on Siguiriyas.
Please see below for the course timetable and fee structure. Please click the button at the top of the page to contact Farida to book, or of course if you have any questions at all!
